Volunteer with Wesley House
Wesley House could not operate without the generosity of our volunteers! Whether it’s tutoring or playing bingo with the senior citizen participants, there is something for everyone. Our various volunteer options and descriptions are listed below.
Summer Camp Volunteers
Summer Camp, formerly known as STEP, is Wesley House’s Summer Time Enrichment Program that runs from the full length of summer. Volunteers with STEP help look after our kids from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday. Wesley House has a variety of activities for the STEP kids; some examples would be field trips, academic hours, and athletic activities.
Youth Development Volunteers
Youth Development, formerly known as CARES, is Wesley House’s Children’s After-school Recreational & Educational Support program that runs the full length of the school year. Volunteers with CARES help look after our students after school by providing homework help, tutoring, snack distribution, and general childcare supervision.
Senior Citizen Support Volunteers
Senior Citizen Support, formerly known as WISE, is Wesley House’s Wellness in Senior Education program. Volunteers with the WISE get to spend time with and bring resources to our fantastic Grannies. Volunteers can assist on weekly Friday meetings by helping seniors play BINGO and so much more!
Maintenance Volunteers
Wesley House Community Center is a non-profit that has been serving its community since 1907. In 2013, we moved into the former Laura Cansler Elementary School. Therefore, there are numerous maintenance projects around the building that Wesley House needs help addressing. Examples of these projects would be painting, organizing storage spaces, and building furniture.
Event Volunteers
There are four main fundraising events at Wesley House Community Center; Tablescapes, Golf Tournament, our Friends and Donor Breakfast, and the Masquerade Ball. We can always use a helping hand to prepare or orchestrate these busy days. Tasks range from setting up event spaces to helping guests register at the event.
